As a web designer it can be hard to diagnose a problem. This is mainly due to web sites behaving differently depending on the user’s browser, version, screen resolution and settings. Read more about Cross Browser Compatibility here.

So that we can quickly identify and solve the problem, it is essential that we are supplied with the following information: The browser and version you are running, what screen resolution you have and whether you have Javascript and cookies enabled.

Luckily the website Support Details provides us with all this information and more. All you have to do is fill in your name, email address, and the email address of the person at Kintek you want to send the information to, and click “Send Details”.

There is a bug on my website, can you help?

The more information you can supply us about the bug the better we can understand the problem, and the faster we can resolve it. The following type of details can be useful:

  • What were you doing at the time?
  • What link on what page did you press?
  • What did you add / update / delete to expose the bug?
  • Did you try refreshing your page?
  • Did you try doing it again once it was refreshed?

If you are unsure of how to properly explain the problem in words, why not send a picture? Google Chrome has a great extension called Awesome Screenshot (and it is awesome!). Awesome Screenshot lets you take a picture of your screen, crop it, annotate it, circle and draw lines to problem areas, and then lets you upload it and then send the link to us. Very easy and very handy!
